Debating news:
At the last two meetings of the Midlands Debating League, hosted by Mrs Kathy Boast at Weston, both of Weston's Senior sides achieved some pleasing success. Rounds 4 and 5 were held on Tuesday 20th July, and Weston's Juniors achieved one win and one Best Speaker, Richard Upton (in his first debate!).
In Rounds 6 and 7, held on Tuesday 3rd August, our Juniors had a win with (again!) Richard Upton and Anovuyo Mbande being selected as Best Speakers, and Myles Caldecott receiving a Special Mention. In the Senior Round, Clinton Briggs was awarded Best Speaker in the winning debate. A. Mbande is Reserve for the Midlands Junior Side. Well done to all Weston debaters on a most successful season.
